Position Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Data Analyst to support our data governance and management efforts. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for developing the business glossary for critical clinical data terms and ensuring its effective integration with our metadata repository. You will also be tasked with implementing and managing approval workflows for data definitions. Your role will involve close collaboration with data governance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across data management practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Manage Business Glossary:

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive business glossary for critical clinical data terms, ensuring that definitions are clear, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Regularly update the glossary to reflect changes in data terminology and business requirements.

Link Metadata Repository with Business Glossary:

  • Integrate the business glossary with the metadata repository to ensure consistent and accessible data definitions.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure seamless linkage between the business glossary and metadata management systems.

Implement Approval Workflows:

  • Develop and manage approval workflows for data definitions and glossary entries using AWS DataZone.
  • Ensure that all data definitions go through the appropriate review and approval processes before being finalized.

Collaborate with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with data governance, data management, and clinical teams to gather requirements and ensure the business glossary meets their needs.
  • Provide training and support to team members on the use of the business glossary and related processes.

Ensure Data Quality and Consistency:

  • Monitor and enforce data quality standards across the business glossary and metadata repository.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure that data definitions are accurate and up-to-date.

Support Data Governance Initiatives:

  • Contribute to data governance initiatives by providing insights and recommendations related to data terminology and definitions.
  • Assist in the development of data governance policies and procedures as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing and managing business glossaries, particularly in the context of clinical or healthcare data.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata management practices and tools, with experience in integrating business glossaries with metadata repositories.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing approval workflows using AWS DataZone or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in data definitions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks across different time zones, with a minimum of 4 hours daily overlap with US time zones.
